Receptionist/Clerical Support-City of Phoenix

Provides general guidance and assistance to the customer via telephone, written communication and/or in person. Coordinates and communicates customer inquiries both departmentally and corporately. Performs various and multi-functional departmental clerical and administrative tasks with an emphasis on excellence, privacy, compliance and versatility.

Organize, file, compile and distribute correspondence and other documents alphabetically, numerically, or by other prescribed method.
Meet quality, quantity and timeliness standards to achieve individual and department performance goals as defined within the department guidelines.
Consult and coordinate with others to generate, assemble, and update correspondence, departmental files, systems, manuals, logs, materials and or packets.
Assists departmental staff, as assigned, with clerical and administrative tasks and projects.
Order and maintain department supplies, equipment repairs and maintenance.
Demonstrate and maintain current working knowledge of the required BCBSAZ systems, procedures, forms and manuals.

The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Employment Requirements

Required Work Experience
1 years of experience in office or clerical field Required Education High-School Diploma or GED in general field of study
Preferred Work Experience
1 years of experience in a health insurance, medical office, or other healthcare related field
1 years of experience in a sales or marketing field Preferred Education
Associate's Degree in general field of study
Required Job Skills
Intermediate skill in in use of office equipment, including copiers, fax machines, scanner and telephones
Type > 35 words per minute with 5% error rate or less
Basic skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
Intermediate PC proficiency
Sit and/or stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day
Perform light manual work lifting up to 20 pounds Required Professional Competencies
