HR Specialist - Learning and Development

Job Location USA, La Fayette, GA Job Posting Title HR Specialist - Learning and Development The Challenge The HR Learning Specialist is responsible for training and development, communications, and employee engagement events. What you will Do

Focus on delivering/providing training for the general workforce and targeted functional/technical areas including: developing and delivering training materials including presentation materials, training guides/manuals, course evaluations, etc.

Coordinate employee training schedules, based on training requirements, and maintain the spending to budget.

Oversee contractor, employee and visitor orientations

Ownership of Learning Management System at the site and ensure data integrity

Assess the organization's future workforce needs against internal and external labor markets to identify potential shortfalls and design interventions to fill the gaps.

Conduct “what if” scenario planning and analysis to identify the return and impact of specific HR initiatives.

Develop a workforce plan and associated talent management strategies (e.g., build vs. buy) to support the required future workforce.

Employee Communications focus on providing information to employees to: Ensure that they understand the company's mission, strategy, policies, and performance. Equip them with the company-wide and function-specific tools and information that they need to perform their jobs. Communicate compensation, benefits, and other HR programs and policies. Convey a positive image of the company.

Ownership with the HR team for the employee on-boarding experience, working with HR to ensure a positive individual experience for all employees.

Work with the HR Team and Shop Operations to reduce voluntary turnover.

Analyze and own exit interviews to determine process improvements for retention.

Plan and coordinate employee engagement events, including employee community and charitable events, and lead cross functional teams through implementation of the events.

Maintain the employee handbook, working with the HR team.

Maintain and utilize the company external web site, internal HR web sites, social media pages, in-house communications, including red-e app to reach employees.

Work with headquarters communication team to ensure appropriate messages are sent to employees at the site.

Work with the headquarters communication team for external press releases.

Maintain positive and upbeat communications and employee engagement activities, events and training.

Find innovative ways to engage the workforce in plant goals and objectives

Able to use technology and new media to refresh and invigorate communications and create positive excitement

What you need to Succeed

B.S. degree in Human Resources, or related field or demonstrated equivalent experience of ten years or more

Proven leadership, able to work under pressure

Recognized leader in the plant and community

Demonstrated positive, upbeat and energetic leadership style

Clear and excellent communications (written and verbal)

Proven problem solver

Organized and able to handle competing priorities

Strong computer skills

Demonstrated ability to influence others through explanation of facts, policies and practices.

Must be self-starter, self-motivated, self-confident leader
