Associate, Human Resources

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Americold owns and operates 155 temperature-controlled warehouses in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, China, Argentina, and Canada. Primary Responsibility:
Administers Human Resources processes accurately and timely for a facility or department in accordance with standard guidelines ensuring confidentiality and compliance requirements are observed.

Essential Functions:
  • Answer questions regarding examinations, eligibility, salaries, benefits, and other pertinent information
  • Partner with Recruiting in filling job vacancies; notify eligible workers of position availability
  • Compile and prepare reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities
  • Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information for personnel actions
  • Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants
  • Gather and file personnel records from other departments or employees
  • Process, verify, and maintain documentation related to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, and job classifications
  • Provide assistance in administering employee benefit programs and worker's compensation plans
  • Processes changes in HR database system as required
  • On request, search employee files to obtain information
  • Gather initial information regarding employee issues and escalate to HR Manager in a timely manager
  • Facilitate new hire on-boarding
  • Process new hire paperwork, including I-9s
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required,
  • A minimum one (1) year related work experience
  • Experience with HRIS and APS systems
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with variety of individuals
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions
  • Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending
  • Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work
  • Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks
  • May require travel by automobile and airplane up for business
  • May require visits to facility operations in temperatures at or below freezing
  • May carry loads related to travel and occasionally lifts, carries, positions, or moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Requires the use of various electronic tools
  • Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: must partner with colleagues without exhibiting behavioral extremes
  • Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from executive management
