The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant III to work in our Contract Administration Unit. The salary for this position is $2,875.00 - $3,200.00 per month, depending upon qualifications.

GENERAL DUTIES:

- Performs complex (journey-level) administrative work for the Texas Workforce Commission
- Prepares and disseminates information concerning agency programs and procedures, responding timely to routine and non-routine inquiries
- Prepares, edits, and distributes correspondence, reports, forms, and documents
- Maintains filing, record-keeping, and records management systems
- Performs general office duties, such as ordering supplies
- Responds to inquiries and interprets rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Coordinates meetings or conferences
- Compiles and enters data for databases, summaries, or reports
- Assists in the development of administrative or technical assistance policies and procedures
- May provide assistance answering and routing phone calls, taking messages, and greeting and directing visitors to the appropriate staff
- May research, compose, design, or edit agency publications such as brochures, forms, and manuals
- May assist with the development of training materials
- May manage and maintain schedules and travel arrangements for staff
- Performs related work as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures.
Skill in the use of standard office equipment and software.
Ability to implement administrative procedures; to interpret rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; to communicate effectively; and to provide guidance to others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited high school or successful completion of GED certification, plus three years of full-time experience in a responsible position that provided thorough knowledge of administrative support functions and office practices and procedures, or clerical administration and business management practices, such as preparation, maintenance, and control of forms, records, and reports. Fifteen semester hours of accredited college work may be substituted for each six months of the required experience.
